would a 38 gallon tank be proper to house a male jacksons chameleon. the one that is in my picture. can someone tell em ASAP. trying to order his new cage this week!!!!!!

No.

A proper place to house a Jackson's would be a screen cage. Fish tanks or "reptariums" aren't ment to house chameleons. They don't have the air flow that chameleons need. Also, the chameleon can become stressed by seeing his own reflection on the glass thinking it's another chameleon. Also, chameleons need height more than depth or width, thanks are normally long rather than tall.

I would recommend investing on a screen cage. Summer is around the corner, the cold season is over so climate wouldn't be a problem. Screen cages normally run cheaper than glass tanks.

Glass is not ment for chams. and you will also run into drainage issues when all that extra water has no were to go. i will get moldy and the air will become stagnant like the water and will cause your cham to get a respriratory problems. not to mention that your feeders will drown in the poddles. its just an all around night mare for you and more importantly your cham. hope that helps

Even if you try to modify a standard glass tank with some screen panels for airflow (won't work all that well as mentioned already), the overall dimensions of a 38 gallon tank will be too small.

Not necessarily true. There are modified glass terrariums that CAN work for chams...just not the classic fish tank type.

i forgot to mention that it was a all screen cage. LOL i'm getting it from lllreptile. i forgot the width and length but the height is 30 in

The absolute minimum size I would house a sub adult to adult Jacksons would be 18x18x36 but I prefer 24x24x48 for a single adult male.

The aluminum screen cages from LLL are really nice and are what I use besides custom made cages.

i'm going to make a custom cage when it warms up. It's still really cold over here. I was just going to use the cage for the cold months.
