Hi,
I have had my Chameleon for 2 years I bought her from a local pet shop, not long afterwards she began to show signs of MBD so I took her to the vets.
The vet said she was in really bad shape and she needed to be put to sleep as she didnt think she would make it. I didnt put her down and I nursed her back to quite good health. I took her back to the vets after her first prolapse I was told again to have her put to sleep but I knew my Karma was a fighter and again I nursed her and ensured she had all the calcium she needed adjusted her viv to suit etc.... She didnt prolapse for nearly a year now she has had a really big one which took 3 days to get back in kept it wet and clean etc but we worked together with it.
Now the advice I need here is that i hadnt noticed but the flap hasnt closed properly and a very small part has dried out. She is still using it (shall we say) she is eating although I have cut the size and amount she was eating. she has a really good grip on her, she is drinking a lot! but she just seems to be sitting but with her eyes closed. We have had a change in the weather and were it should be getting warmer its getting colder, I also have a beardie who seems to be in a slight brumation do you think it is possible that she is also going through the same? I do have an appointment with the vets today I was thinking maybe its time to let her go but want some advice to see if am doing the right thing and what you would do in the same situation?
Many thanks in advance
