Project: Enclosure using display case frame

So, I've been researching and speaking with a few people on building an enclosure for a male veiled I am purchasing in the near future. I've come across a glass display case which I am considering using as a frame for my enclosure. Here is my idea:

-The enclosure is 4 X 7 feet. The width I'm assuming is 1 foot though I have not confirmed this yet. See pic below ...
-Starting from the top: I will sawing off the top and replacing it with screen and building an extension to place the proper lighting required.
-The back, I will be drilling holes to mimic peg board to promote air flow.
-The bottom I will be sawing out and installing a membrane, and adding a drainage feature similar to a stand up shower. All sides and seams will be filled with caulking and the entire inside will be painting with zero VOC latex acrylic.
- The front I will be creating a subsequent air flow system but I have not finalized those details as my husband needs to take a closer look at the display case.

Am I missing something?

My main concern is the space. Would a male veiled feel too 'enclosed' with one foot width of space or is the length sufficient to make it feel secure? It's quite a large enclosure ... I was even thinking of closing it off into two and housing both male and female in either side.

Please look at the picture and let me know what you think. I would prefer people respond who have experience with building enclosures or experience with veileds in particular. Please note I live in a Canadian climate and I am not interested in an all screen enclosure.

Thanks in advance,

Aleesha :)
