Primary Feeder Change

When you say primary feeder does that mean that you are offering other choices too or that you are only feeding roaches?
A mix of all available feeders all the time would be ideal.

I feed what i can get my hands on roaches crickets and superworm. Roaches and crickets i use as the regular feeders and a superworm here and there as a treat

The more variety the better, rather than having anything be a staple. I aim to have no one feeder make up more than 30% of the chameleons yearly diet.

Variety is ideal but I think the most important element is the gut loading.
I would choose one feeder with a good diet over a large variety that were all eating carrots or potatoes.
Obviously in the best of all possible captive worlds, a variety of feeders and a varied gut load with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables would be provided.

Variety is good
However as far as nutrition and health go you would have better results using just roaches instead of roaches and crickets. Nutrionally speaking variety in and of itself means nothing, unless the different items each bring something different into the equation. An example of a varied diet that would be beneficial would be silkworms, roaches, mantids, phasmids, worms and snails. Each one being very nutritious and offerning different and complimentary nutrients to the equation. Mealworms and crickets

personally i feel a constant (but varied) mix is better than feeding one for a while then switching to another one. it doesnt neccessarily have to be in the same feeding , but each week should provide a variety of feeders, its not just an issue of boredom, each individual feeder choice offers slight different nutritional values, and when a single type of feeder gets fed for weeks on end they dont really get the full benefit of that. a varied diet does not mean varied from month to month or season to season but rather a constant variety of food. that would be like you eating all oranges one month, all steaks the next, and all pasta the month after that , you could certainly survive that way, but it wouldnt offer the best nutritional window. an occassional day of fasting might not be a bad idea either, it gives the digestive system a chance to clean out a little and catch up to whatever digestive issues might be going on , just my 2c worth.
