preparating superworms?! LOL

They could bite but if you're not grabbing them they are unlikely to bite you.

In case anyone thinks this is interesting, Mary Roach mentioned the superworm myth in a chapter of her lasted book Gulp: Adventures on the Alimentary Canal called "Dinner's Revenge." She and a few gastroenterologists perform a few eperiments to test the theory and realized that it's total nonsense. 1. Because a superworm in a small dark space goes into hibernation mode, not eat your way out mode (remember that they pupate when they find themselves alone and in the dark.) 2. Because superworms are dinky little creatures who drown in two drops of liquid. And 3. because all chameleons chew their food before swallowing, so the worm is dead even before it reaches the stomach.

I've actually tried to get a superworm to bite me with no luck. I've found that unless you force your finger in thier face, they don't bite.

dinky little creatures

Olimpia called them dinky little creatures. they are named 'super'. That gave me a chuckle. A moderator had a sense of humor. nice job. good to see the world isn't over yet.

Lol They are! How many have "drowned" because a little bit of fine mist fell over them in the feeding cup. They and crickets are the two insects with the greatest desire to drown themselves in minimal water.
