Pregant?

I have not, but when i got her she had babies unexpectedly. The pet store even thought she was a male. I was thinking she bred with the chameleon that was in the cage with her.

She may be pregnant. Just watch out for decreased eating and increased roaming activity. How long ago did you get her

She has had a decrease of eating and she is starting to rome around more often then she used to. We got her a bigger cage for her 1 month ago. We got her almost 1 year. It will be a year on Feb. 20.

Do you think that she has decreased her eating because she is stressed of her new cage and she is roming around because she is getting used to the cage?

She had her last babies on August 25th. My guess is if she is pregnant she will have them sometime in Feb. (six months from Aug.). I think I have read that Jacksons only need to be with a male once in their lifes then they can have babies multipule times. Tell me if I'm wrong. :)

i cant. I dont know the gestation or lifes of jax. i dont keep them,
but knwoing she had them before can help other jax owners decide if she could be prego now. :p

I asked a similar question for my friend recently - check out this thread - jdog's post is rather interesting! https://www.chameleonforums.com/breeding-jacksons-some-questions-72389/

Also, from my experience with my friend's female Jackson (the female that gave birth to Monty and his clutch mates) I first saw her back in May 11 and the male had died some time before that although I don't know how long before. They were housed together as a pair and it turned out that the female was pregnant as she gave birth 4 months after I saw her, so if what jdog suggests is true my friend may well have more babies Jacksons arrive at some point!

I have never bred them myself but I did so much research before I got Monty. I know my friend worried constantly about the babies - they aren't quite so 'bomb proof' as baby Veileds!

When my female gave birth the Ninja I was so scared to pick him up. I didn't want to hurt him! :)

I know! And I only had one! Monty weighed just 2g when he arrived and he now weighs 5g at 16 weeks old! Because so few people breed them, little is known about the finer points, such as the length of time that sperm is retained. Captive Jacksons are so hard to find i the UK - I waited 4 years to get Monty and then it was only because my friend had her female that gave birth or else I would still be looking! I have dearly wanted a Jackson cham since I got my first Veiled female back in 2008!
