pre wing crickets?

hey everyone,

is there any problem withfeeding my adult male panther cham pre wing crickets?
And the logic for not feeding? Most of my adult panthers will eat quart inch crickets and up in size. I feel smaller prey items are better, it just takes more of them to make a meal.

I don't put up with crickets with wings. Once they chirp, they're getten eatin by someone right away.

Yeah me too. I feed 3/4 sized crix mostly and try not to buy so many that i have alot mature into adult males w/wings. Thats one of the downsides to ordering crix in bulk. Its hard to feed em all off before they mature and grow wings. Chirping drives me crazy.

ya thats the problem. i bought a bulk amount of 3/4 & half of them matured into prewings. i was just wondering if there where any health concerns? if not ill finish off thos batch of noisey bitches & buy a smaller amount of 3/4 inch. i heared somewhere it good feeding gravid females prewing crix for some reason, any truth to this?

How are you able to tell that the female crickets even have eggs lol. Also is it the males or the females with the little uhh i guess "tail" sticking out?

The male has three "tails" like the one above

Correct me if i'm wrong but i do believe that the third center tube actually indicates its a female cricket not a male!!! The long third tube is used by females to deposit her eggs into the soil!!!! " V " shaped tails indicate its a male!!!

You're correct.

Also, I prefer using prewing crickets because they just seem to eat more gutload. Try it. Take 1,000 4 week old crickets and 1,000 6 week crickets and see which group eats up their food quickest! I figure the chams get more nutrition that way.
