Praying Mantis for my Jackson?

yes :) but they are better pets. they learn who you are and are very fun to watch + they eat honey off your hand and like bananas.

reallly??????

yah :) i raised mine out of an egg case from a mom i found! they know your face! they'll watch you and turn there heads and clean their little feet. like cats sept mantids. lol. i supose some dont like honey and bananas depending on species.

I raise praying mantid and I feed the occasional mismolt. I posted where I fed mine an orchid mantis that was beyond help. That was an expensive treat. If it is "size appropriate" I don't see a problem with it. My veileds will run to me when they see me with a mantis treat.:D

@patrickfraser Do you often sell any matids???

send a link to the forum or the website where i can get more. why buy from a stranger when i can buy from a forum member...

I think they all like honey and banana Okiroo.

I feed mantids as well.

As long as they are not too big, they are fine, and actually a great thing to feed.

There is only one way for you to feed the chameleon bananas and honey.

You have to feed it to the feeders, then feed the feeders to the chameleon.

I think feeding it directly to them, would be a bad idea. ;)

Shut your trap Mr! I was looking for the home town discount! ;)

It looks like Spiffy Bugs has European Mantids for sale:http://www.spiffybugs.com/exoticinverts/mantids.html

I recently ordered a chinese ooth from them, and was very pleased. :)

Cant beat the price either...
For <$5 shipped, I mean come on! Thats less than the gas to go pick one up down the block!
I have been to the sight and almost ordered. I bought 3 ooths last fall and it took up until a couple weeks ago for them to hatch...

Interesting.

I was able to hatch mine in exactly 14 days after receiving it. :)
Im sure they are all variable though.
How where you keeping it?

I kept them in ventilated deli cups in the garage. Being that it was late fall/early winter, it was prolly too cold... :/

Hmm, I believe Pssh puts hers through the cold/diapause stage before selling, so that they hatch soon after you receive them.

Here is how I kept mine:https://www.chameleonforums.com/spiffy-bugs-76687/

it is not shown there, but I put a piece of wash cloth in the bottom of the jar, and would wet it every 3-4 days(whenever it dried out).
I kept it on top of my hot water heater, and in 14 days, viola!
