Powersun vs. Reptisun

I currently have a PowerSun UV mecury bulb

Is this a good bulb or should I get a fluorescent bulb like the ReptiSun 5.0 UVB

I've personally never used a MV, but ,my concerns are that this bulb attempts to provide 2 separate needs. UVB and heat. A chameleon regulates UVB exposure via the pineal ( or third eye) gland. It regulates heat also for body temp and digestion. With a separate source of UVB and heat , the task of regulation is simple. With a single ( MV ) source, it may become complicated.

I used a powersun for about a week and got rid of it.. I think it puts out too much UV!

My veiled would hide at the bottom of his cage whenever it was on. I switched to the reptisun 5.0

Sucked for me because the powersun is not a cheap bulb... I donated it to a reptile rescue.
