Potting Bamboo

Would you put bamboo in a pot with potting soil or in water

Are you talking about real bamboo or "Lucky Bamboo" (which is not really bamboo at all).
Real bamboo would be planted in soil....the "Lucky Bamboo" can be planted in soil as well but most people seem to keep it in water with stones to support it.
Either can be used.....I would (personally) choose to plant in soil.

On a side note on that lucky bamboo thing I have haerd that it is poisonous.

I have dwarf bamboo in full soil.
