Cool. I had a toad for a little while but I had to let him go because he ate SO MUCH! I spend enough money on crickets for my chameleons I don't need to be feeding a wild caught toad too!

I had a few toads similar to that - brought home tadpoles, raised em up for a year, returned them.

Here are pics of my current frog families (3 White's Tree Frogs, 7 Painted Mantella) and an old pic of those toads.

Here's Sally Mander, the most charismatic salamander ever (tiger salamander). If Sally sees you, she comes forward. If you do not promptly respond by feeding her, she makes herself progressively more obvious, until she is standing on her hind legs, front legs braced on the glass, doing everything body language can to say "Don't forget the salamander!"

And Xeno, African clawed frog. Not overwhelmingly exciting, but we've had him six years now.

I've never gotten around to photographing the newts.

What cool creatures!

I love the little green pac man!

I tried my hand at raising axolotls from eggs, but my house is just too warm for them and they didnt survive :(

My husband (the newt man) has had them; he says they're biters. (I was really tempted the last time I saw them in the pet store; they're really cute when they're little.

Last time I check toads weren't amphibians, frogs are. :p

Still lovely creatures. I've always liked newts and salamanders. What's the one in the north east that gets huge? I want one! :D

One of these would be insane to have!

Last time I checked toads were amphibians:

Amphibians (class Amphibia), such as frogs, toads, salamanders, newts, and caecilians, are ectothermic (or cold-blooded) animals that metamorphose from a juvenile, water-breathing form to an adult, air-breathing form. Though amphibians typically have four limbs, the Caecilians are notable for being limbless. Unlike other land animals (amniotes), amphibians lay eggs in water. Amphibians are superficially similar to reptiles.

A toad can refer to a number of species of amphibians in the order Anura. A distinction is often made between frogs and toads by their appearance, prompted by the convergent adaptation among so-called "toads" to dry habitats. Many "toads" have leathery skin for better water retention, and brown coloration for camouflage. They also tend to burrow. However, these adaptations are not reliable indicators of its ancestry. Because taxonomy reflects only evolutionary relationships, any distinction between frogs and toads is irrelevant to their classification.

Here was a frog I had, but I had to find him a new home, he kept getting me into trouble.

See, the problem is you just have to be willing to enjoy your singing frog for what he is, and not expect him to make your fame and fortune...;)

LOL thanks for the explanation. I'm not a toad person. Everything I've seen refers to toads as being terrestrial and giving birth on land. But it isn't like I've researched it.

For the record I was being funny.

Here's some of mine.

I remember! Found in box under the cornerstone of a condemed building.
Very funny toon that was! :)
My whites male behaves like that sometimes, Normally if I play a recording ofa male calling on my pc, Freddo will join it and try to outdo the newcomer, so its handy to demostrate his call (and its volume) if guests ask about them.
But recently I try I tried to do that and the little @#^% refused, made me look an idiot.
Soon as the guest left and we went back to watching tv, off he went for 10 mins straight! :)

Aww I love amphibians so I've enjoyed seeing all these photos:D
I own three fire-bellied toads, two green ones and one brown. Sadly I can't work out how to upload a photo to this post as the error message keeps saying the photo is already attached on another thread:confused:
