ok so we are kinda concerned. one of our veiled females (lulu) is showing every sign of being gravid. but she is only 5 months old. is that even possible.

her colors show it. she is nosing the dirt in the potted plants and spending all of her time at the bottom of the cage.

could it be anything else? or is she old enough. i have no idea. its freaking me out

Very possible. this happens form feeding to much and high temps. you should aim for 80 with females. i only feed one large criket daily.

pics would help but if shes in the dirt i would leave her alone in case shes decideing to lay or diggint test holes

It is young. but also possible :) it hasnt happend to my chams but i remember readinig posts where people over fed their females. either way this can be settled with a picture or the female. does she have yellow/mustard spots all over her? does she have blue spots on her? does her tummy look fat? i cuddnt even tell my female had eggs in her the first time and she still layed 46. it can be hard to see. depends on the female mabey.

let me find a camera and ill post a pic. she doesnt have blue spots she is darker green then normal with light green and yellow in places. and she doesnt go flat like she used to she seems like kinda bloated so yeah you could say she is kinda fat haha

this is not regular for her. normally she is light green with darker vertical bands of darker green

those arent gravid colors.

those are stressed colors.

gravid colors are normally black background with teal spots.

or green like in my avatar. that is my female when she was gravid.

nothing is new for her. and she seems perfectly happy. she acts just like normal. but she is now always those colors. even if i take her outside for real sun and stuff she still stays like that. could it just be her color and pattern developing?

she got a new plant. but she is in it all the time. she seems to really like it. and like i said she loves going outside. its one of her fav things to do. i had her for for 4 hours with me the other day and she still looked like that. the entire time

change bugs them.

so adding that plant has probably annoyed her.

Just because she came out of her cage wtih you, doesnt mean shes not annoyed.

give her a few days, she will relax.
