Hi, I have been experimenting with a type of feeder called a Blue Bottle Fly larva. And I want to hear if anyone else has used this and what their experiences with it have been. I want to continue to use them but want to make sure it is the healthiest. (Though this is cheifly for another of my reptiles-not a chameleon, but a sickly bearded dragon).
My experiences:
-Good for young chams in need of weight gain
-Good for really small chams
-Easy to store (fridge)
-Good for treating sick reptiles
-Should be offered only as a treat for older chams (8months plus) unless health requires it.
-Can be annoying when they all pupate and suddenly the delicious wrigglies vanish
-Find that they need to be fed out of a cup or a container as they tend to crawl away quickly and burry themselves.
