possible mbd? need help agian please

my one year old male nosy be has had no problems until now. yesterday i came home from work and he has his neck stretched out as far as he can looking up towards the top of his cage. i took him out and he seemed fine.he was doing the same thing this morning when i left work and still in the same spot doing the same thing when i came home this afternoon. i have never seen anything like it before so i would greatly appreciate yalls help.sorry i dont have a way to post pics

heres my info sheet

male nosy be,1 year old, had it for about 9 months

i handle him about 3 times a week

i feed crickets,12 a day,buying them from local store

was using repcal but switching to zoomed with no d3.giving flukers liquid calcium until the zoomed gets here neext week

i use a drip system. i fill it up twice a day.iu mist 3 times a day enough to soak the cage fairly well, i do see him drink off of the leaves

feces right now is not what its supposed to be.it was more of a splatter this morning .he has never been testedfor parasites

he is in a 2x2x4 homemade screen cage

12 hours a day he gets 75 watt heat buld and 20 watt rzilla uvb

basking spot..87 to 92 bottom of the cage 70degrees lowest overnight is maybe 65 but probally 70 i measure temp with a flukers thermometer

all plants and vines are fake some are exo terra and some are flukers

his cage is in the living room.it is located by aair conditioner

i live in south texas

his current problem is fecal disposition is not right and he is stretching his neck out and up for long periods of time

Does he gape at all? Like hang his mouth open?

Chameleons that raise their heads may be having trouble breathing, possible RI.

Do Ac's take humidity out of the air? I have a feeling they do and that could be a problem.

Hmm, I'd recommend the following:

Food: at his age it's time to cut back on his feeders. Check out sandrachameleon's blog. She has a feeding diary for her two panthers. Also, are your feeders gutloaded? Same blog has brilliant info on that.

Supplementation: does repcal have d3? if he's had d3 every day for 9 months thats not good. Maybe a more experienced member can comment.

Drinking: a question, how are his urates? Nice and white?

Lighting: have you changed your UVB at all? Should be changed every 6 months.

If you're worried best option is to get him checked out by a good vet.

yea repcal has d3.i jus learned that your not supposed to dust all the time with it.my other male jus went to the vet yesterday with mbd.im still learning all this stuff.i just found this sight a few months ago..his urates have been perfect until this morning.i just changed my uvb recently.i have had chams for four years and never had any problems till now.i guess the only way to learn things is by trial and error.

Personally, I'd take him to the vet as soon as you're able. Let us know how you get on.

hey i really appreciate ur help. the only vet we have this area is 30 miles away and is only there on tuesdays so hopefully he will make it till then.thanks agian so much.

It sounds possibly like a respiratory infection, as they will get a build up of foamy, thick saliva and raising their heads may help them breathe better. Definitely make that appointment as soon as you can and with some antibiotics (if it is an infection) he should be right as rain.

I would look in his mouth and if you see foamy mucus take a Q-tip and just quickly swirl it in his mouth no further in then as far as his teeth go. This will at least help out until you can get him to a vet.
