Possible Chameleon Burns?

My chameleon is about seven months old, veiled, male, eats about 6-8 crickets with calcium powder daily, and drinks fresh water as well.

His enclosure is 48" tall by 24x24"

He is perfectly healthy in every way, he is rarely crabby, enjoys leaving his cage every once and awhile and is not easily stressed.

Lately, I have noticed these white patches of skin that are just on his back, his tail, and on his side.

The white patch on his tail has been there for a month, nothing has changed, it doesn't seem to bother him it just looks like its still molting. (Which is around the time when both of these occurrences happened), he never scratches his back or feels irritated by it.

Sometimes the white on his back will turn black in some spots and then it will revert back to the white color. (It looks like someone just bleached his skin)

I put neosporin on his back I was worried earlier that it might become infected, so thatch why it looks all moist around his spikes.

Other then that he acts normally, hes really friendly and never hisses.

I just need help figuring out what this is.

:) hello. I'm not experienced in this but, would suggest you need to get him checked by you vet. If it is a burn, I believe you'll need silvadine or something like that for it to heal and also may need it cultured if it is infected. I would not treat a burn myself. Just my 2 cents. Also, very important to find out how it happened. It will help experienced keepers on here to help you more if you will fill out the questionnaire. I'll post you the link. Just copy and paste then, fill in your answers. Very detailed as possible. Pictures of encloser and if possible better pics of wounds maybe a top view.

He's very pretty. If those are burn marks they aren't severe. The first mark, around the shoulders, in particular looks odd. However, burn isn't the only answer.

Do you think your set up makes a burn likely? If so, I suggest you move things so that isn't a problem.

Just because I had a wild idea (so, I'm asking you to indulge me) do you treat the water you use for misting in anyway? That first shoulder mark looks a lot like a dried water stain when the water had something added to it. Like say, calcium or maybe it was water from a water softener so was extra high in salts?

I put repti-safe into all of his water products (Fogger, Dripper, sprayer) We Do however have a well-based water system, and we have a high amount of salt in our water.. I don't know if thats the cause. I did however a few days ago move his basking branch down a good 8 inches. He still seems fine (he's always in a good mood) So there was no change in anything. It doesn't seem to bother him. I was also just curious if its still molt stuck to his skin? He just finished about two days ago and I wonder if its still a remainder?

-He is also sleeping now, and the mark is a darker color then his night-time colors, so I fear that it is a burn. I'm going to go have him see a vet.

Thank you everyone for your input.

I really suspect that shoulder mark is just a stain from the stuff in the water. Stuck shed is only a concern if it constricts a limb (or tail, you have to consider the tail a limb).

Seeing a vet is always the right thing to do.

Went to the Vet, they were suspected burns. I was given anti-bacterial cream for treatment, and I am currently monitoring the healing process. Thank you all for your input.
