Possible Casque Burn?

Hi all,

I have a 1 year male Veiled. Post shedding, his casque looks like it was having some issues, but I think he may have gotten too close to his heat lamp and burned himself? (pictures attached). The lamp has since been moved. Trying rule out any infection. That said, there appear to be orange hues around the edges which i know is not a good sign.

Nothing behaviorally is off - he's got a great appetite and moves around during the day.

Vet appointment is on the calendar, but I figured any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Why are you taking him to the vet?

It looks fine and healed. There doesn't appear to be any sign of infection from what I can see--just healthy scar tissue. If there isn't any abnormal swelling or redness, I would skip the vet. My opinion only.

If you see a change, like a swelling developing, then go to the vet.

I've had some pretty horrible rub wounds on wild caughts (from capture/importation) that healed up fine with no help from me. It will take months and months for the scaled skin to cover the scar, if it ever does.

The eyes look fine. They change colors as they mature.
