I dont know if i just have a weird chameleon but does anyone elses cham prefer to poo outside his cage? Our zuggie has an obbsession with it! Everyday without fail when i open his cage he will climb to the edge of his door lifts his leg and slips one out lol then looks at me asif to say "it wasnt me" !

Good point :p haha!! I thaught the same thing tbh he must just rather sh*t on my floor rather than his haha just wondered if anyone elses cham does this?

I've noticed mine is very particular about where he does his business. There are three plants in his enclosure. A ficus, a Pothos and a Schefflera. He poos from the ficus, nibbles on the pothos and hangs out on the Schfflera.

I don't think it has anything to do with what your cham "prefers" or not. Some territorial animals mark boundaries with poop, others who are more secretive prefer NOT to announce their territories with poop. Animals who roam around on the ground within their territories probably don't want to wade in their own poop. An arboreal animal won't really care because they don't have to deal with whatever they dropped below (like birds). I think it has more to do with simple stress and stimulation. Most of my chams would end up pooping outside their cages if I carried them to a favorite free range area or sunny window. A cham, removed from its cage gets excited, roused up, and gets more active as a result. One result of this is to get rid of waste!

My panther refuses to poop in his cage! I always know when he needs to go because he just paces and scratches at the door. Once I let him out it's usually only a few minutes before he does his business and then he's happy. Never have to clean poop in his cage! :)

Haha so i guess its relatively normal then :) he never poops on his free range, and he used to poo in his cage all the time, when i open his cage door he always climbs to the top and the edge of the door and sits there, he chooses that spot over his free range somtimes lol n then all of a sudden he started doin his buisness there and now he just waits till i come home from work and open his cage and hes strait up there getting into possision haha!!

Yep it appears I have an outside popper as well. He lets me know he wants to come out of his enclosure... starts doing the poo poo dance and then I swear he gives me a big smile

Thats friggin awesome! I wish all of mine would do that. That would cut down on cage/plant cleaning chores big time. :D I hate having to clean poop off of the leaves of their plants its a pita.
