i smell it...and look for a few mins, then give up and find it a few days later...and unfortunatly the humidity keeps it moist and stink...and i cant seem to find them on contact...any help

How bad of a smell are we talkin ?
I havnt gone around and smelt to many chams but typicly they dont smell very much if any. Just a thought :)
As far as findin it often they will use the same area maybe you got a trainable one lol.

like if i hold it in a paper towl and smell it close to my nose...i should smell no oder???

It should have no odor. When's the last time you had a fecal on your guy?

Ive had fecals done they passed, and my guys turds stank. I have also been told different variety of bugs can make a different smell of a turd too. For example, when my cham eats silk worms it really stinks.

I try to feed my cham if the front of the cage. Therefore, he poops in the front of the cage where it is easy to get.
Naturally chameleons poop in a particular spot to attract bugs, via their dinner.

Hope this helps...

oooo thanks....yeah i think the no oder therie is a little off, my beardie has nasty poo and hes all clear....ill have one done in a few days as a check up....but i noticed that crix make it smell, and silks make it a little runny....i guess to each their own....wouldnt this poop attraction fail though.....say a bettle comes by and eats the poo for a few minutes until the cham notices...then smack its inside the chams stomack filled with bacteria and other nasty gunk...kinds like a wierd way of suicide.....or mabey i have no idea what im talking about...lol

but..poop is ment to stink...i mean its what our body doent want...so why would it smell good, or anything like that.

Indeed, poop......(yes 'POOP' :)) should have no discernable odour at all, should be slightly moist but firm. They should be rather obvious, though I understand your question about densely planted vivs.
Fortunately, Chams, veilds atleast anyway) seem to be rather habitual. Mine defecates in the same place each day, immediately after drinking from the dripper. Otherwise I expect it may indeed be 'Poo patrol' im afraid.
Watch your chams habits closely at different times of the day. A day off work is good to observe throughout the day.

Im curious what kind of parasites make poo stink?? Both of my jacksons have both had stinky poo and both have been tested. I am convinced that i must do another sample... you guys have me worried.

All poop stinks ... except the first poop that comes out of a baby (I've never had the pleasure of verifying this though). If your chameleon's poop has NO odor whatsoever, I suggest actually feeding him and not pretending that chunk of organic soil is poop or taking him to the vet! Supposedly a parasitic infection will make the poop smell markedly worse, but it's physiologically impossible for poop not to stink, especially carnivores'.

I was thinking this same thing... You people think your chams Sh@# dont stink? LOL

It is still time for a poop sample though. :)

'stink' is subjective ! (in the nose of the beholder)

like i was saying if our body doesnt want it it must be bad....but ill have a fecal test run soon....is it possible that parasites could be in my cham...and show no signs of it...his poo isnt that bad...the smell was a nasty shoe...lol...but my resivore hadnt been cleaned in 2 days...so that might be it...not my resivore....my drainage tub...my bad...but can there be parasites that dont show signs...and what signs would be shown???

I hate to keep harping on this same subject but, if chameleons poo in the same spot in the wild to attract bugs. How does it attract the bugs with no odor??

Not trying to say you guys are wrong that say there should be no odor, but i am having a hard time believe that something can eat bugs and poo something that has no odor at all.
