A few days ago I noticed my Romeo pooping and what seemed to be a little piece of undigested Superworm in the poop. He was just tested for parasites two weeks ago so I am not suspecting that. Day after that I was watching him poop and he only pooped out a white urate and nothing else! Anyone ever seen that before and what it might mean? Then yesterday he pooped a urate and a very small little turd? He is eating, drinking, has all the right temps, gets about 5-8 hours aday of good ole florida sunshine and it is warm here. Just wondering what might cause undigestion besides low temps and parasites which is not the problem. Thanks for your input. On another note the new cham is finally eating and getting lots of sunshine. I just can't get used to his "boobs"(edema). I know it can take a long time to go away and do not expect miracles in less than two weeks!

never dealt with undigested food.
but all of my chams have at some point, just passed a urate and no poo.

i think its normal. :)

Supers are a little harder to digest. Maybe up the temp a little and see if it happens again. I, personally, wouldn't be too concerned unless it becomes regular.

he has never had a problem before that is why It thought it strange. Most of the day he spends outside in the sun and it is pretty hot in the direct sun when he wants to bask. I have nocontrol over the outdoor temps of course, but indoor I could up the wattage of his basking bulb. I will see next time he poops and see what it looks like. Thanks

No problem. I've seen lizards (can't remember if any were chameleons) that pooped out undigested mealworm shells, so it makes sense to me that a superworm might do something similar once in a while.

My Veiled has passed only urate before a couple of times. He always poo's afterwards though so probably nothing to be concerned about if its the only time its happened.

Carol's asking for help? I thought you knew everything about Chameleons. You're the go to person.

Just a guess but since Superworms are hard to digest could this be a symptom of impacting?
If this was my Chameleon I would cut out the Superworms from the Diet and put him/her on something easier to digest. like Silkies or Hornworms. Myabe give the Superworms only once and a while.
