anyone else Love these fruits?

For me, they're synomymous with Fall / Halloween / Samhain
I used to suck the sugary fushia pink flesh off and spit out the inner berry seeds, but now I just chew and eat the whole seeds and all. or Sometimes I'll juice with apples and pears since these are coming off the trees right now faster than I can use them all.

I plan to plant a Pomegranate shrub next year if I can find one to buy (not popular to grow in Canada as most places get too cold). Anyone here grow them?

Pomegranate are a good source of Folate, Potassium, Vitamin C and Vitamin K, and contain polyphenols, such as ellagitannins and flavonoids. more nutritional info: https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/sandrachameleon/738-pomegranate-nutrients.html

I have a pomegranate tree in my front yard, also some relatives have them. They basically grow by themselves (with the exception of watering) in Cali.

I remember as a kid growing up in Ontario what a special treat a Pomegranate was every fall. My parents would buy one and cut it into 4 quarters, one for each of us kids. We had to eat them outside so we didn't stain anything but our hands and faces. Funny to see them all year round now...

I have a real small on that hasnt grown since we planted it. lol. But alot of people around me have them. Found a entire trash bag full of them a few days ago. Some one just through them out on the side of the road. Man were they ripe. Should have prolly got a few but you never know with that kind of stuff.

I live in the house I grew up in an still have the huge tree that was huge bk then it puts out a lot of them. friends would turn up with one from the store an it wasn't even really ready to eat I always wait till it splits there so sweet an juicy then.. theres always so many I give em out to friends and a friend who makes jam

Pomegranates do not do well in soils with high salinity. That could be a cause for why there not common by the coast.
