polished rocks

i got some polished rocks from homedepot in garden section to put in my plants to stop my veiled from digging. the other day i noticed two where in bottom of cage. i put back in plant. again they where in bottom of cage. i put web cam on him and saw that he would pull them out with his tounge. it was the same ones. they where dark in color. i replaced them with lighter ones. they havent been removed yet. has anyone experienced simular behaviour? i wonder if he thinks they are bugs? they are all way too large to even get in his mouth.

Glad you removed the rocks yours was curious about, as Im sure the weight of the rocks wouldnt be good for its tongue! yes, i would guess it thinks those particular rocks look like tasty big meals.
I once had a female (now gone from old age) who would eat anything. And I mean anything. If something moved, looked like it might move, looked like it might be a bug or be otherwise tasty, regardless of size, shape, colour - she'd zap it. Rocks, branches, my eyeball, fingernails, shadows....
