Poisonous chameleon snake discovered

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) -- Researchers scouring swamps in the heart of Borneo island have discovered a venomous species of snake that can change its skin color, the conservation group WWF announced Tuesday.

The thing I was thinking about was that if it has evolved the color changing process like a chameleon. They said they didnt know why it turned white in a dark bucket, sounds like over heating to me? It got lighter to disipate some of the heat. Just a thought.

That is a good guess. It could also have been an emotional response or a combination of the two. I am looking forward to reading about any studies done on this animals ability to change color.
