Po and I are headed to vet.

How did the vet visit go? Where they able to tell for sure what that was that came out of her?

The vet visit was upsetting only because this vet that was supposed to have specialized in reptiles had no clue what to do about chameleons.

he said he thinks it's a bacteria .. gave me canned dog food and told me to start giving her loctobacillus or acidophylus... and to heat up the food and give it to her a few times a day.

I trust nothing he says because during the exam he was looking through a book to diagnose her, but the book said nothing about chameleons and then made a comment about how she was trying to blend into my sweater.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP , seriously. The only other vet I can go to is over an hour and a half away and costs an arm and a leg.. that I currently don't have.

They also wont work with me on payments even though all we'd have to do is wait till the first.

ok i do think it is a bacteria infection but i know for sure dog food is not going to help that :/ i forgot what my vet gave me but i know humans use the same thing for bacteria infections let me see if i can find it.

This sucks chick wish I knew more for you? I was thinking about you and Po last night anything you could think about she may have munched while she was out doing her normal roaming that could have upset her stomach I know you said befor she loves to sample everything?
Is she eating crickets supers etc? What's her diet been consisting of?

Yeah I figured dog and cat food wasn't going to do the trick. do you think I should give it to her anyways until she starts eating on her own? it's like special dog and cat food , it's called a/d .

She's been eating medium superworms as of the last two weeks before that she was on large crickets until they ran rampid and took over my dorm.

Could you borrow money from someone else until the first of the month.? Another member was given the same exact food for their chameleon. It didn't work.

I'm sorry Po is having problems.

ehhh i wouldn't give the food to him. but I'm not no vet. maybe some more experienced people will stop by so thats all he said is that she had a bacteria infection??

i remember posting a problem a few days ago but cant remember the issue?

DONT give the chameleon dog food. loctobacillus or acidophylus is fine.

Okay so I wont give it to her. Yeah if you could find out what it is I need to give her, I will find a way to get it for her.

People here often suggest making "bug juice" to feed a chameleon that's not hunting normally. It's basically grinding up the normal (gutloaded) feeders with a little pedialite. You put it in a plastic syringe with no needle (the kind used to give medication to children) and squirt it in their mouths.

I think giving them food that they are supposed to eat is probably the best plan.

Yeah he just said bacterial infection. I wont feed her the dog food. so do you think I should get her the lactobacillus?

By looking at the pics of your last thread it looks like parasites to me.
If you look close at the second pic it looks worms in the stool.
You need to get a fecal done to tell for sure.

So if it is a parasite how long could I wait until I take her to the vet.

There's another college campus that has a vet clinic that specializes in reptile care that I could go to on the first.
Could she wait that long? or no?
