My odie is a 5 month old veiled. I was standing up beside his cage doing my hair, when i looked over at him and his left eye was puffed up like it was swollen? But as soon as he realized i was looking at him, it went away almost immediately?? What is going on?

Haha I'm pretty sure what's going on here. Post some pics if you can so I could see. If it's what I'm thing it freaked me out when my Veiled did it when he was younger. I think he just got water in his eye, when it happened to my Veiled it did look bulged out but then went away like you said, so that's what I'm going with. But know easy way to tell unless you have some pictures.

Chameleons have a lot of control over their eyes. Puffing them out may be a way to clean them. This is normal. If the eye was pushed out, closed and not going back to normal I would be concerned.

Was he doing eye maintenance?
They bulge their eyes and swish them around to clean them.

Did it look like this?
