Everyday my female veiled has been going to the bottom of her cage. She is about ten months and is 9 inches. Is she looking for an egg laying spot? It is odd though, she picks a specific place to climb down and another place to come up. She has been basking more often and eating less. She only stays for like ten seconds.she showing her receptive colors too. She has gained a little weight by her hind legs. Should I set up an egg laying bin? I heard play sand can be used to lay eggs but i'm not sure. how big should the bin be? How moist? Please I would love for any help. Here are some pics.

i would set up a little egg laying spot for her just in case!

i've heard of female veileds practically exploding from eggs.

I set up a rather small container in all cages for egglaying females once they are getting close to sexual maturity. The opaque containers are big enough when empty for the female to fit into with a couple of inches to spare on all sides including above and below her. I fill it with moist washed playsand. This gives the female a place to dig to show you that she's ready to lay eggs.
