I am pretty sure I know the answer to this after reading multiple threads but am hoping somebody may have some advice. I purchased my son a female veiled chameleon a little over a year ago, which I primarily care for. She is about 15 months old and had been very healthy until two days ago. At the time of purchase I spent almost $2000 on every single item recommended by the herp specialist at the pet store, from the cages to the supplements, thermometers, etc. As I said she has been healthy and happy, growing well. Approximately two days ago I noticed her at the bottom of her cage where she never goes, hanging out. She was there off and on through the day. I thought it odd but had no concerns. Yesterday morning my son woke me up very upset because she seemed ill. Her colors were dark and she was very weak. I checked on her through the day and while she still seemed weak her color improved a few times. Towards the end of the day she started to get dark and weak again, and also seemed like she was laboring to breath. At that point I started to research and found that she could have been trying to lay eggs or be egg bound. I haven't been able to find any good information to help me with determining the chances of her having just layed eggs, and unfortunately there is no vet around within several hours that treats lizard. From what I have read it seems as though there very little hope for her but I have to try. Any advice, please.
