Please Help. Patch on my female Panther

My female Chameleon has developed a patch on it's side. It has a raw skin look to it and is discolored. It remains white white all the time. I've had and have many Chameleons, (various panthers and Veiled) and I've never come across this condition before. She eats fine and it hasn't had any affect on her appetite. She has shed once as normal since developing this patch. Her behavior hasn't changed, she is plenty active and doesn't seem affected at all by it. I would just love to know what it is...

Any tips as to what it could be and treatment would be great....

thanks....

That could be caused by several things. The biggest things I'm worried about: thermal burn or fungal infection. If a thermal burn is unlikely in your setup then I'd be very worried about a fungal infection, especially with the way it looks and that it has survived a shed and gotten worse. I'd be scheduling a vet appointment for proper diagnostics to look for a fungal, and a secondary bacterial, component asap. Without knowing what the infectious component is you will not know if you are treating it correctly. A fungal infection that gets out of control can kill a cham.

Thanks for the info. Thermal is certainly out of the question with my setups. I was thinking it could be fungal but wasn't certain. I've never had any of my Chams have any fungal infections before so I was 100% certain.

Thanks again for the heads up.
