This is part 2 to a post earlier today. I had to start a new one to upload the images I just took. This is my panther chameleon I just got a week ago, healthy and energetic, on the move constantly when we have it out. Eats about 6 crix's a day. If you can help me identify it, that would be greatly appreciated, especially if it is a male or female would help a ton.

It's a female right? Females are really hard to guess the locale, what was it sold to you has?

EDIT: just noticed you want to know the sex, Imo it's a female but I mey be wrong. I don't see the "lump" that a male panther would have on his tail.

I was told it was a cross between a blue bar and a red bar. So Im guessing Ambanja. Does anyone else have any ideas?

Haha, sometimes it is so confusing. Im going to give the guy a call and see what more he can tell me. Thank you all for the help I truly appreciate it.

who did you get it from is it a breeder or an online store??? what did you pay for it that type i'd only pay about 200 most for a female ambilobe!!!

Yes looks like a young female...but should feed her more than 6 crix a day...IMO!

Way more than 6 a day ...

Not really. Overfeeding the females will then make her lay larger clutches of eggs which are very taxing on them. 6 crickets a day is actually too much for an adult female. That is what I feed every 2-3 days (obviously they are large crickets dusted accordingly and I also have a variety of other feeders that I mix in).

She looks younger than 6 months though, no? (I haven't had a female panther yet so I can't gauge their sizes in photos) But I might feed her just a little more until she gets to about 5.5 months old. And then definitely cut it down.

Although if she's getting 6 large crickets then that certainly might be good. Size makes a big difference in the size of the portion.

She doesn't look like an adult female, but still feeding "way more than 6" crickets per day is, IMO, too much. She seems about the right size to start cutting down on some food intake. I dont have any other females to compare too other than my female ambanja and she isn't that big and is fully grown. I can only assume the female from the OP is at least 5 months old.
