iti s not as bad as I thought but you do have very little shade in his enclosure, when chameleons are exposed to light all day long without the possibility of getting to a shady please their eyes get inflamed, and to have a bright color container( like a white plastic box) for the chameleon make things worse due it will reflect the light onto the chameleons eyes in more angles that he can manage, put more plant in there, if you see his eyes swell up while he keep them close turn off the light a day or too it can help

Okay, how do I know that his eyes swell up? That small plastic container in the bottom of his cage, is that a problem?

nahh is not a problem, but it seem that you have a bit too large cage and to few plants, I cant find any good pictures but use the search engin here and look for swollen eyes, you pretty much will recognize if he has it
