Plants

So off to the garden centre tomorrow to get a plant for Neelix. As he's in a very small cage at the moment (he's only 4 months old), I was thinking of just getting a little potted plant & putting it in there for him. Looked at the list of safe plants & I'm thinking camomile would be easy to get. Are they fussy about the smell of different plants? Is there a small slow-growing plant that anyone can recommend?
The other option is for me to get one that will grow, take it out when it gets too large, & then save it for when we get him a nice big cage.

i recommend these plants

pothos plant

ficus plant

hibiscus tree

beware if you get a ficus silk comes off the leaves don't get it in the cham's eye it is mildly toxic

hope this helps:D

Ah cheers :) As my garden centre also happens to be the place where I bought him, hopefully they will supply those plants!

So ficus trees are bad if the get in their eyes... what if they eat them? My girl Angel loves eating them but it they are bad to eat I'll take it out asap

it won't hurt them if they eat it at a certain spot like off the tips of the leaves but between the branch and the leaf will. which I don't think they do:)

hibicus are generally a pain in the arse to keep going they need to be fed. but those others are great choices , im currently using a very large sheffelera in my enclosure

love schefflera :) Pothos are great too. i dont like hibiscus or Croton because they die so easily in my opinion. and the ficus trees we got all have tiny limbs that my chams can now snap and all the leaves fall off all over the place. my veileds love ferns tho :) and my panthers are big on our fruit trees

What kind of fruit trees? Do they generally do well inside??

have had a couple and it depends. our peach tree died to to not enough sun :( but we have small crabapple trees in large pots in front of the windows and they do well. same with our mulberry tree but take it outside every day for sun
