i just wanted to know if there was anything i needed to do with new plants bought from places such as home depot, etc.. will the fertilizer harm my cham?? is it best to order plants from a reptile supply site?? i am looking for a new hibiscus and a ficus tree for my setup

The biggest thing you need to watch for is pesticides that maybe on you plant. Some keeper will say to pot in some kind of organic potting soil free of fertilizers. but you can just put large rocks on the soil so that your chams cant get at it.

As for the pesticides, give it about a week after wiping the leaves down with some soapy water and then a good rinse. over the week give the plant a good shower to rinse the leave daily.
