Plants And Other Questions.

I have a few questions about Fake Plants.

I have read on here that they should not be used. I was wondering why? I prefer them to real ones and a friend of mine that has like 5 Chameleons uses them on theirs and says there is nothing wrong with them, but everyone here says to use real ones.

1. Can Fake Plants hurt the Chameleons or is it just a personal preference to use Real instead of Fake?

2. What kind of Humidifiers are recommended for the Chameleons? Does anyone have a certain kind that they prefer?

3. What about drippers for watering, is there a certain kind that is better then others?

I have acquired 2 Chameleons since September and I am finally able to fix up their cages, make their lighting better and make them a really good home. I never had the money to do it before because when I got my first one, I was told that they were a breeze to care for, boy was I in for a surprise.

If I think of any more questions I will ask them at a later time in this forum.

I have added pictures of their cages as how they look this morning. (The Glass one has the Female and the Mesh one has the Male. NO that Turtle is NOT real.)

I thank you in advance.

If you care to see my other Threads of things that I have asked I have included their links. (Starting with most recent) If you decide to click on any of them and have anything to ad please do so I check them regularly.

1. Can Fake Plants hurt the Chameleons or is it just a personal preference to use Real instead of Fake?No they dont hurt the chameleon, but they are superior to fake plants in several ways. they help with humidity, water drops form better on the leaves, Veileds will eat leaves, and you can decorate your cage a lot cheaper with real plants.

2. What kind of Humidifiers are recommended for the Chameleons? Does anyone have a certain kind that they prefer? Any kind from like walgreens is fine

3. What about drippers for watering, is there a certain kind that is better then others? The only dripper i know of if the Big and Little Dripper, they have a valve on them to adjust flow. i have 3 and they work great!

You dont have enough anything inside your cage. it is very bare. i would go out and buys some real plants.

I would add a concern looking at your female cage.
Are the grapes fake?
You might want to take them out, in case your female mistake them as food and accidentally ingest one or two.
It can give your cham a fatal impaction.

Grapes are fake and she doesn't touch them. They've been there since Late September and if she was gunna eat one she would have by now. She knows whats okay to eat and whats not.

Anyway thanks everyone. I will come back sometime in the next few months after the cages are fixed up and better.

lol we are just saying.

yeah I know. They won't come off the thing though they would have to be cut, and then theres a sharp edge and she could hurt herself. I'm just gunna leave em because they're gunna get moved to the back of the cage where she sleeps and she never touches the wines on the back, she just crawls in them to sleep

Oh. They look like the ones that can come off easy.

we bought the things from wal mart. we superglued the leaves and things onto the vine because she would put weight on them and most of the time the leaves would fall out of place. so its not so easy to just rip them off.

but yeah

Ok. Thats good.

I'm not sure if you saw my post(the first one) at they very bottom. you cages look a little bare. they coul use a lot more plants.

Yeah its a work in pregress. She normally has a fake plant thing in the bottom of her cage thats wood, but the Crickets crawl up and hide in it so I has to come out the day I feed and put back in when she's finished with her crickets, normally a week and a half later. So its not always as bare.

And her walls are pretty bare because she's been making the Vines fall down and with the crickets I havent reached in there to stick them back up. I don't want a stupid cricket jumping on me. They're gross and creepy lol.

I'll stick the vines back up sometime this week when there are less crickets hiding in them and before I give her more I will take some pictures.

I hate them. My Males cage had a hole in it that we didnt know about and we found a few crickets climbing on the walls, a few the cats found and we found several dead in the closet. They're just gross little buggers

yeah we found the hole. the previous owners had the pump going through the cage and there was a gap under the tube. so we grabbed some tape and over taped it.. my BF ended up taping the door shut lol
