Ok so i bought two umbrella plants from wal-mart and some organic potting soil and a bigger pot.i was wondering after i rinse the plants and repot them are they ok to just sit around on my porch until i get my chameleon or are there any concerns with that.It will be atleast 3wks before i get mine i was just wanting to have everything perfect before hand.thank you

as long as there are no bad bugs lounging around the plant that could infest it that would be fine..such as ants:eek:

One thing that I found in research before I got mine was filling the bath tub with a mix of some dishwasher/hand soap and LOTS of warm water... then take the plant and "swish" the leaves in the filled tube and rinse with a warm shower until ALL bubbles are gone, then let the plant air dry... This will remove all the nasty pesticides the could harm your cham when he searches for food in the plant

as far as i know ?they are safe for chameleons the safe plant list lists them as well as people who post pictures in the enclosure thread.I was going to do the bath tub thing but decided i didnt know if loose soil would mess up my drain falling off the plant so i got a never used large trash can and are goin use that.I have stones from around my house that are similar to river rocks(larger side) that i collected and are planning on throwing in the trash can as well for a clean.

That sounds excellent... The only thing I would do different is boil the rocks but thats definitely just a personal touch Im sure the trash can would do great...Sort of a bacteria phobic over here ;)

Does Walmart have pesticides in there plants how do I know I don't want my baby veiled to eat it and die
