Plant Question?

Hello,

I am new to this Forum, and I have a question on some plants I can use for my Veiled Chameleon. In the past I was using bamboo for her. Unfortunately the bamboo plant died. I would want to continue using bamboo plants for her. I heard before that lucky bamboo is toxic. I was wondering why is lucky bamboo toxic. She doesn't eat any leaves even when I offer her collard greens.

If someone can help clarify me about the lucky bamboo soon I would very appreciate it.

Thank you:)

Lucky bamboo is from the dracaena family and according to the safe plant list on the FL cham website, all dracaenas are safe for chameleons. It is however toxic to dogs and cats because of the saponins they contain. A lot of times plants that are toxic to mammals are not toxic to reptiles. So it should be ok for your chameleon.

Thank you,

When she was young she use to climb on my Mom's lucky Bamboo in my kitchen.
Also what type of ferns would be like good bright ferns?

Yes, it's worth the peace of mind and they still may have used sprayed pesticides. Also, remember to put stones and rocks over the dirt so your chameleon doesn't shoot at the dirt and get impacted.

Thank you,

I have organic soil. I got this plant today it has beautiful foliage. I think I have stones to put on top of the soil. Thank you again on the plant information.

Its a foliage,

At Home Depot they didn't have the exact name. I can take a picture of it. When I put it her cage she really seemed to like it.
