Uhhhm, where did you find them? Is compact is a no-go when it comes to plant grow lights, too, or just the UVB lights? I can't find anything under 2ft. :[

If you have a plant grow light under 2ft long please link me.

Walmart carried the bulbs and they actually have a clamp lamp specifically for plants. We use it under our saltwater tank for the macroalgae. Its about $16 but includes the lamp and the bulb and is mountable as well. They carried the fixture with the bulb for $10 or just the bulbs for $5. IN the hardware section in the lightbulbs. (Thats here in TN)

You can see mine here: https://www.chameleonforums.com/meet-leo-19719/index10.html
Middle of the reptarium attached the the PVC. Mine is the 24" though as it fits perfectly in my cage.

You can get plant bulbs in incandescent form almost anywhere... but other than the ZooMed Mercury Vapor UVB bulb, you can't really get a good one for under 18". I have a ReptiGlo (not as good as ReptiSun, but I use a 10.0 to make up for it) 18" over my BTS tank that I picked up at PetSmart.
For a Cham, though, unless it's a really small baby you should use at least a 24" tube bulb to make sure the whole cage width is covered.

OK, i will have to invest in one. I was under the impression that we weren't suppose to do that.
Should this be lifted so its not sitting right on the cage. Seems like if a cham can get thermal burns from a normal UVB not lifted correctly, than they could get them even better with a grow light. Just a assumption, i don't know anything about grow lights.

Sandra, why are the top? Mine is centered as I have both plants above and below it.
