Ok just wondering if this bulb works for growing plants with my chameleon? Is it even safe for my cham? Does anybody have experience with these bulbs? uploadfromtaptalk1353343524707.jpg

Thanks for the reply... yeah I don't got a Hood yet to put in linear bulbs in but I think ima get one this week seams like the best idea

Good idea I don't have any experience either ........I was told to that you can just use a 6500k or 5000k the work just fine........if I were you search up some of the lighting threads ..they might shed some light on the situation........pun intended :p:D

I have that on a fixture on the side of my cage and i rotate it day to day between my hibiscus and pothos. My hibiscus hasnt flowered but it is alive. I also have a 6500k grow light up top as well. Hope this helps

It is fine.
It is simply an incandescent spot light bulb that has been "color doctored" with a coating to put out more red and blue wavelengths.

Hence it looks a little purplish like a GE reveal incandescent bulb.

But there is nothing 6.5k about it... lol.. it is more like 4.5k since all incandescent bulbs are allot warmer in color temperature than Flo. bulbs.

It will put out heat and make a good basking lamp too boot!:D

But remember- it does not give off any UVB - so it is NO GOOD for preventing Metabolic Bone Disease. :)
You will need an Arcadia Flo Bulb for that.
