Its a lot easier to leave a laying bin in her cage with her all the time. Taking her out of her cage and expecting her to lay is going to be difficult I would thnk. My female will only lay after I cover her cage with a sheet for a couple of days. She needs to be able to do that undisturbed and dont let her see you watching her dig or she may abandon the laying site. JMO

there is a small 10" buckit in the cage now. when Do I know when to take her out OR put up my blinds in front of the cage?

You will see her starting to dig when she is looking for a laying site. What did you put in the 10" pot? I used a sand/soil mix about 50/50 and put some moistened sphagnum moss on top of the dirt. She seemed to like that because she laid the next day after adding the moss. Just make sure when she starts to dig that you dont let her see you watching. Its a long painful wait when you have a gravid female but as long as she has what she needs she will show up in her branches one day soon with dirt on her nose. Then you will know.

I have a 50/50 mix in the cage now also i have moss but didnt put it in yet.
also I started a hole for her. in my 5 gal buckit I have sand thats out side the cage just incase i try to put her in that. I work alot so I dont have time to see if shes been searching.
