I've been looking at ghanns crickets, went ahead and ordered some crickets, they also have some pheonix worms, I've fed them to my beardies before, but never a baby chameleon.

I know they are high in calcium but are they good for cham's to eat?

Yes they are! Great feeder for chams for all the same reasons....my boy had a few and decided he didn't like them but he's a fussy fellow...my girl loves a phoenix worm :)

Ohhhhhhhhhh yeaaaaaaaaah. Phoneix worms have and awesome calcium to phosphorus ratio. They have been a staple of my guys diets since I discovered how great they are.

If you can get your chams to eat them, most definitely! :D My chams have been turning their faces up at the worms, but I won't stop trying...! (They're hooked on flies...)

And of course Phoenix worms turn into black soldier flies which are pretty cool and tasty too.......apparently. Less calcium, but a nice treat anyways :)

I know that Marimo will LOVE them when they fly around... do they lose a lot of calcium though? Some of them are getting really fat (The load of them were "drilling" into a cucumber and a bunch of blueberries yesterday) and I think they will likely transform in the near future already. I will still feed them off when they're flies, but it would still be interesting to know :) I have no idea when it comes to phoenixworms.... and I'm sure the information would be useful to anyone planning on getting some for their chams! ;)

all my animals LOVE them. We go through 500 large ones a week. Bishop and Rocky would probably eat only them if they could haha

How do you get them to transform into flies? Never happened with mine.. probably cause they don't get to live long enough:D

I haven't had any flies yet, but it seems through feeding and having them for a long time, they will eventually turn into flies! I think the turn at a certain size, but I am no expert on these wrigglers.

The food they come with keeps them from transforming too fast. Sit them on the shelf for a couple weeks and you'll notice they all turn black. That's the cocoon. The cocoon absorbs a lot of their calcium to build as well as the transformation process.
