Hey guys. I'm new here but not at all new to chams. I've been keeping (and occasionally breeding) them since the mid '90s. I once almost bought a pair of imported brevicornis from Sticky Tongue Farms, if that gives any of you "old school" keepers any idea when I started. My main focus lately has been on Morelia pythons, especially GTPs, but I recently found a guy on craigslist looking for a good home for a young CBB female oustaleti. He gave her to me at half price because of my experience level. She's doing great and eating my dubia faster than they are reproducing, so I'm placing an order with Mulberry for some worms today. Anyway, let me stop rambling and get to the point. So... I've been re-bitten by the "chameleon bug" (apparently very similar to the chondro bug, and equally addictive
I found some pfefferi for sale yesterday. The animals seem healthy, and the price seems reasonable. I may order a pair today, and I just have a couple of questions. Is their husbandry the same as other small-medium montane species? I've kept/cared for montium, quads, Jax xan, meru and "flap" (yes, I know
and probably some others. Also, is it true they are "short-lived"? I know that most species have been proven over the years (with improved husbandry) to live MUCH longer than was originally thought "back in the day", but I also know there are some smaller sp. that really don't live too long. Lastly, the supplier is a large scale herp dealer. Nothing against them, but does anyone know of any cham people that have them for sale? Thanks so much! -Patrick-
