Petsmart Employment

I worked for a Dr. Pet back in the early nineties. They were sort of the predecessor to PetSmart, but they sold puppy mill pups, etc. I wound taking so many animals home for rehab, many were too far gone. What these box stores need most is people like Syn. One great and knowledgeable employee can make the whole store better.

Thanks elrojo, I was preparing myself for possibly bringing reptiles home every now and then. Went so far as to clearing up one side of my room from the huge TV I never use as well as my closet, just in case.

Well, looks like I won't be using it. On the bright side, my room isn't as cramped anymore.

el rojo eres mexicano? :D

and i deff. agree with el rojo if there were more people like syn and people on this forum that truely cared about animals pets stores would be a much more pleasent place to be and work at :)

You dont know how bad it is to sit at a table and every ones speaking spanish and all it sounds like it "blah blah maw maw mawww"
LOL!

I'm in my fourth year of Spanish starting August 9th. It's fun to be sitting around a table and listening to people speaking Spanish and knowing part of what they are saying! :D

Looks good on a resume.

Maybe just maybe you should get some investors and make your own wicked awesome reptile store?!!?!?!!?1?

Syn's Wicked Awesome Reptile Emporium and Other Stuffs That Are Really Cool.

I can see it now...

I know a bit but i mean they speak super fast LMAO

I only took a college level spanish for a quarter and a year of normal spanish and my father in laws speak nothing BUT spanish.
Its a sad sight to see me on the phone with them LOL!

Can we shorten it to SWAREOSTARC? LOL

Yeah the do start going pretty fast and I can get lost sometimes. I go off of keywords, mostly.

ME GUSTA TACOS. Wait why is all of the Spanish in caps lock? Hahahah

It'll probably kill you to work there. You'll have no control over what goes on with the animals, and you will hate what you see. Any of my "animal loving" friends that have worked in big pet stores have hated the experience. I've always felt that loving animals is a detriment to working at the big box pet stores. JMO

I own an *independent* pet shop and it's almost been the death of me. Most of my favorite animals are those that take stress the worst: chams, skittish fish species, etc. I have signs everywhere asking not to tap on glass, etc., but daily there is someone waving jerkily at my babies to try to see them move or react in some way. I don't even like for guests in my house to POINT at my chams! It's really tough being a shop owner. I can't tell you how many people have asked to hold a chameleon, then act like I just dumped a bucket of llama poop on their head and asked for a dollar when I say you don't handle them.

I dont even like my husband to LOOK at my chams.
When pedro was small he wouldnt let ANY ONE or ANY THING near him.
I hand fed him for months and finally got him to come out of his cage with out attempting to bite me.
Now my husband thinks since he tolerates it he can just take him out like every day.
It makes me angry D:<
