Hi - I usually buy my crickets from Joshu's Frogs - but I'm in New England and it'ss be $25 to overnight 500 and I have to be home to get them Anyone purchase at Pet-co His crickets are so lively and I never see dead ones
I'm in New England too. Petco is very expensive and they don't take care of them. If I'm in a pinch I will buy some. Don't buy the ones they put out on a shelf, ask for them to bag you up some. The prepackaged ones are usually in bad shape if not mostly dead. If you do buy some from them, let the crickets eat your gutload for at least 24hrs.
I'm in Maryland so I am assuming its warmer here but still cold. I ordered crickets from Rainbow mealworms last week and had them held at the post office. Two day priority mail was only like $8 (shipping is more expensive with an order under $20). I didn't use a heat pack but if you want one, its like $2. It was a high of like 40 when they arrived with maybe 3 dead out of 200 and I am experiencing very few deaths in their tank.
I like Rainbow as well, but my last order (11/29/17) did not impress me. I paid for the heat pack but it was not included. About half were dead even though they were held at the Post Office. I don't know what happened but the original survivors did not live very long after. I'm sure if I called Rainbow they would of made it right, they have very good customer service. Yesterday I ordered from Five Points Cricket Farm in PA, they are being delivered today, I hope they arrive healthy.
My shipment from Five Points Cricket Farm arrived! All seem good including the Super Worms. They included a heat pack for each package which probably kept them alive! I am really happy with the shipment.
