Part time free range.

I am thinking of setting up a mini free range for Omar that I can sit right at the open door of his cage that would allow him to have more area for exploration. Should I provide heat and UVB over this area or just let him go back to what is in his cage when he wants too?

How old is he? If he is a little dude I wouldn´t bother keeping him on a freerange all day, maybe just a few hours or so. But if you really want him to freerange, then I would suggest providing him with uvb and heat outside the cage, it is essential for them to absorb uvb and heat to digest their food. I allow Stella to freerange 3 hours on saturday´s and sunday´s when I can sit and watch her by my computer all day :)

He is about 6 months old. I only let him out today on a plant that was by his cage, right away he crawled over to the window and was trying to climb the glass. He would never be out unless I was there to watch him due to 3 cats and two large dogs that live here as well. I would hate for anything to happen to him even if they were only checking him out, who knows what could happen. So he wouldn't even be out for maybe an hour or so at a time.
