Parson's in Madagascar

i don't only love the actual work you did with the drawing, but i love the point of view. it's such a unique view, as we often see chameleons from the side, or underneath looking up. i love how this shows from above them looking down. truly a great drawing

My daughter is an artist and they live for feedback it makes the work better. So before you call me pompas you should know what your talking about instead of trying to cause trouble and make yourself look like a big man.

As an artist myself I can tell you everyone is a critic, which can make it very frustrating when you show a piece (which is a personal expression) to someone and immediately get a negative comment, especially from those not in the trade. It really puts a stain on the pride you have for that piece (a delicate thing in itself). Yes it's good to know what to improve, but sometimes it's nice to just show it off and get a little ego boost to make up for all the rest of the "constructive comments" that were not asked for. If the artist wants constructive criticism, they'll ask. Otherwise maybe they just wanted to share their kick-ass piece with a community that would really appreciate it for once!

I keep going back to it btw because I really love it! I downloaded it to my phone and made it my background! I hope you don't mind. :D
 
Great looking piece. I would be willing to buy that even if you had him eating a sandwich! Just to let everyone know, I have fed my Parsonii fruit plenty of times. Hercules is fond of blueberries.

I judge livestock, mainly horses, but after each class we right up why we judge each animal in the way we did. As a rule of thumb, we must say the good, then the bad, and then end on a good note. This tells the breeders what they need to work on when breeding but doesn't degrade the animal they have pride in. I also show, so experience on both hands helps me understand. so, even though they aren't completely the same, putting something both positive and then your comment would of been looked at a lot better.

This is a beautiful piece by the way. I love it. Do you do other animals.? Or just reptiles.?

No. More like you offering an unwarranted criticism. Just man up and apologize to the guy. The member was simply displaying an art piece. You turned it into a holier than thou I know more than you. Oh and see Chuck's post above. Maybe YOUR Parsons doesn't eat vegetation but that doesn't mean they all don't.

Well I guess that proves me wrong. Absolute proof that they NEVER would eat any vegetation. Info dating from 1842. Go call Chuck a liar then. After you apologize to the OP for ripping his thread.

Then, I thought, "I dont think they eat plants." :p

Its impossible not to notice, and inevitable that it be brought up. :)

Its still nice art, and I think the OP knows that. ;)

Even if they sometimes DO eat vegetation...

I am an artist, and like peoples HONEST thoughts that come to mind when viewing a piece. No matter what it is. That is just me though.

Keep it up nickbugeater! It is a clean piece of work!

You are right, 98% of the world would probably never even think about the chameleon eating a flower. And who knows, maybe they do eat flowers in the wild. Panthers are not supposed to be plant lovers either, but nobody ever told my ambilobe that I guess because he eats his plant all the time. Your artwork is beautiful, and I love that the chameleon is in the tree, just chillin', while the tourists are looking for him! I think that his chewing the flower shows how laid-back and care-free he is. If that were an insect in his mouth, I don't think it would have given us the same vibe. Well done!
