how do i know if my senegal chameleon has parasite?

if he does whats the cheapest way to get rid of the parasite?
is there a way to get rid of the parasites without going to the vet.

my uvb light doesnt last that long is there any other type i could use, my friend uses a regular light bulb and his chameleon is fine,what regular light bulb has both uva/uvb?

please answer some of these questions they are so important and thank you

no your chameleon HAS to have uvb or it will die. If your friend is not using it, his chameleon is going to get ill. If you cannot get a light then get him outside in the sun everyday for atleast 3 or 4 hours. No "regular" lightbulb has both uvb and uva. A household white bulb has uva. There are bulbs that have both uva/uvb. They are a combo bulb and they screw into a dome. Parasites can cause loss of appetite, lethargy, loose stools, stools that smell bad, blood in the stool.. Some parasites can be seen under the skin .If you suspect your chameleon has parasites, you need to get a fecal done from your vet.. You wil have to get medicine to get rid of them from your vet. There is no home remedy to get rid of them, if that is what you are looking for.

most of us follow this scheudle for supplements: a calcium with NO d3, at every feeding(dust your feeders), calcium with d3 twice monthly, and a multivitamin twice monthly also. The brands I use are Sticky Tongue Farms Minerall OUTDOOR forumula which contains no d3 for my plain calcium, repcal calcium with d3, and herptivite for the multi. All these can be purchased at LLL reptile on line. You do not have to use these brands. These are just what I use incase you were looking for specifics. Also, please tell your friend if he is not providing UVB for his chameleon he is going to get sick and eventually die. He may look fine now, but he will not later on.
