The flapnecks and Fischers from LLL are farmed so should still be treated for parasites but I bought a pair of Fischers from LLL at the last show I was at and they are very easy going, laidback chams. Not finicky eaters or drinkers- they both start drinking right away and seem very healthy though I haven't done fecals on them yet. They are both great eaters and don't seem to mind being handled when I have to take them out for cleanings and physicals- I would almost say the male is friendly even. I got to hand pick mine from a big cage of them, though, so hopefully you get some nice ones as well.

thanks kenya i have three fischers already and i plan to get them checked i really love these guys and i am looking to breed them thanks again!:)

I like to use small doses of Panacur or Metronidazole for w/c specimens. Small dosage over a 10 day period will usually eliminate internal parasites. Both can be obtained through Pet-meds or local Vets office fairly inexpensive.

Panacur does not work for the dreaded coccidia; that's why I highly advise a fecal.

Panacur and Metronidazole won't work on tape worms, coccidia and a number of other parasites. IMHO a fecal should be done to determine that the appropriate medication is given in the appropriate doses rather than just "shotgunning".
