I've had my panther chameleon Chamo for about a month and I haven't seen him eat but about 5 times. He is shedding , but was worried because he doesn't seem to eat like my vieled does. My vieled eats everything she sees. Am. I worrying for nothing? He is a, juvenile about 7 inches long and my chams can't see each other. I'm using a 160 watt exo terra murcury vapor bulb and I'm using reptisun T8. Liner tube . I'm also running a fogger at night and a monsoon mister though the day. It mists for 120 sec every 3 hours. Drainage I've got a dragonstrand heavy duty drainage tray.

What are you feeding? Have you tried different feeders? Free range, cup or hand feeding? When you have seen him eat, how was aim and was it at a reasonable distance? Have you noticed anything else out of the ordinary?

He doesn't seem to eat out of a cup. So I release them in his cage. I seen him eat a cricket 15 min ago. His tongue and eyes seem fine other then his shedding on his eyes. But I feed him mainly crickets. I've tried Dubai roaches and horn worms with no luck.

Also I have noticed his left eye closing a lot when he is relaxing. But I believe it's from him shedding around his eye. So I've been leaving his fogger on longer and upped is mists .He seems to like it

Supers, bsfl, locust? (if you can get them). The 1st 2 really need some sort of cup. Have you tried to hand feed if he lets you near him?

If he's eating something, I wouldn't worry too much. It gives you time to try other offerings. This is assuming the rest of husbandry in order of course

My male is a pain and in my human view, doesn't eat as much as I think he should. My female eats like a bearded dragon but both gain weight.

It does appear to be shed but your camera on your phone isn't as clear as some. Keep an eye on it (no pun intended) as he may rub it and cause an issue. If it doesn't look right to you, get treatment. Chams are dry shedders and unless there is an issue can be left alone. I wouldn't spray or put anything in or on the eye unless directed by a vet.

Re the bulbs, I've never used so have no experience of them myself. One thing I don't like is the UVB is concentrated only to the basking spot.

I've read (in manufacturers own specs) that some can't be used with a thermostat and if that's the case, I wouldn't ever go near them. Not having a stat is a recipe for disaster.

Others have said they are unreliable but again, I've not used.

I'm a massive fan of the Arcadia T5 HO units. They aren't too expensive, provide UVB over the width of the enclosure, last well, daisy chain over multiple vivs and look good.

I appreciate it and I will definitely keep a eye on him and I already did away with the. Mercury vapor. I replaced it with a reptisun t5 HO. Hopefully that will help. Thanks again for the help never had a eye problem before .I hope its just a little shed and nothing to serious
