panther nails seem short

is it usual for panthers in screen cages to have their nails worn down. his grip is nice and strong.

It can be common. It has happened with my biggest boys if they do not have enough branches to climb on.

They seem to not be able to grip inside the cage screening so they slip and ware them down. I would recommend added more branches to climb on, vertical and horizontal. Also if you could set up a free range environment the nails will regrow as long as they are not ripped out at the root that is.

ok. i got lots of vines. a large umbrella. a few large branches. thnx for the reply

I have some that wear their nails down to a nub. All the vines and sticks dont seem to have any effect they just like the dam screen
