Panther Males that never breed?

Hi new member but been lurking for at least 3 years here. lol. Finally had a question i couldnt really find an answer to so felt it was that time to finally join the club.

Ok so ive come across a Male Ambanja that i really like. Only problem is its shown no signs of wanting to breed for its current owner. My question is with a change of environment could that entice him to breed down the road? Or it by chance its a vitamin A def is it treatable to get it to safe breeding state? Personally never had a problem with any of my reptiles so thats something new for me.

Without a vet check I can only assume the animals in perfect health. So what about panthers that are just duds when coming to breeding.

Thanks

A male that won't breed is probably not a healthy male... I had the same problem when I was new and my males weren't in optimal health. Once my husbandry improved my chams wanted to mate. All my males will mate to a receptive female 24/7 even if they were cold and a sleep they will breed. So my recommendation is proceed with caution.

Yeah. I mean he looks visually healthy. But how much can you really tell from a pic. They said they tried when they first got him so maybe he was just not comfortable yet.

Im just the type that starts with the issue being worst case scenario and work my way down from there.

Think im still gonna get him keep him and see where it goes. Really have no interest in breeding at this time anyway. But 6 months or so down the road if he looks good maybe. And even if he wont, oh well, still a nice looking animal that ill be happy with.

breeding?

Now is that he absolutely won't breed or is just slower to engage. I have a male panther who is a gentleman about breeding, & a male who is what i call a rapist. My females actually prefer the latter and make it difficult for the gentleman. The females will do their slow walk and it confuses him. He will walk after them but at their pace and it can be actually difficult for him to succeed. The rapist, will notice they are receptive and haul *** like Usain Bolt over to them to complete the deed. They seem to prefer that. So make sure to find the difference. Both males here are healthy, one is just friendlier and the other has to register everytime he moves.

My daughter and I have had panther's that were in good health (had regular check ups from a qualified chameleon vet) and they never their entire life wanted to breed. The vet said they were just too laid back. My veiled Luie was extremely laid back and my vet told me he would probably not want to breed but he did so you just never know. We have also had panthers that would breed and the eggs from the females they were with would never be fertile.

I also have a 3 year old male panther that has never really been interested in breeding. I call him the asexual because he won't head bob for males either. I did get him to head bob one or two times when he was much younger. I kept him in a room with another cage right next to his with a female in it so I kind of feel like its my fault because there was no visual divider between their cages. So he might have become "desensitized" or something. I do believe its possible to have a male who is just not interested in breeding.
