I was told when purchased that this was a male. I bought him/her three days ago and just want to make sure.

Thank you

I purchased him from http://bayshorepets.com they're a few miles down the road from where I live. I got him a few days ago.

I lean towards male. Looks like the tip of the tale is damaged. Can we get a closeup of the tip of the tale please.

I'll try and take more pictures today. Towards the tip it seems there is still a bit of shed. I'm not comfortable with trying to remove it. I don't want to harm him. He's about four months hold.

Ok, maby that is what I saw! Yup, it is better not to remove shed unless it is so tight and forming a band around a extremity cutting off circulation! Then it is imperative to remove it!

Male. Like Matt said if that sheds stuck around the tail and not just a patch you should remove it, mist him good and that will loosen it up first.

@ Matt and guanagator seems after clearing the bit fo shed towards the base of the tail that it's damaged. Attached are photos

Looking at the colors he might be a stunner.(y)

Thank you! We will see over the next couple months.

Also how is my set-up? I had him in a 18x18x30 but decided to downsize till he gets bigger. Felt the larger cage wouldn't be good in regards to feeding. Is this size cage fine? Or should I switch back to the larger one?

I have a 10 UVB and switched form a 100 watt basking bulb down to a 50 watt for the smaller cage.

When I have my smaller ones when they hatch to grow them I keep the cage smaller. I would do T5 5.0 for you're UVB. And then on the size of the tank just make sure the Basking spot isn't over 90 that's what I do. Juveniles two babies tend to crawl all over the cages. So I try to keep the radiant temperature at a consistent level and don't use that hi of a wattage for their basking light . very cute little bugger

That tail will slowly turn dark and it might need to amputate, how did it happen? Did u purchase the baby like that 3days ago??

Yes I did purchase him like this. He is doing fine and extremely active. He never goes for food right away though, surprisingly

That's great to hear the baby is doing fine n active, sometimes the baby will be shy away to eat infront of u,as long the baby is eating n drinking,it should grow in no time,u can monitor the poop dropping to determine if the baby is eating n drinking, how is that tail come along?hopefully its not damage any further by any secondary infection.

Every time I mist he drinks right away! Most of the crickets I give him are gone by the morning but not all.

Attached are photos I just took of him and his setup.

Criticism is always welcome

He seems getting bigger (comparing with the older pic u took)
I like the set up with those vinestick, the only suggestion that I can think of is heavy misting which u probably already doing that, since at this stage the baby can easily to get dehydrated n having the sunken eyes.
