I was givin a panther chameleon with very little notice and I’ve never had a reptile before can you take a look at my enclosure and tell me if you can see anything wrong I’d like them to be happy. On top is a mister and heat lamp along with 2 uvb lamps because the one I was told is not good. Along with the mister I spray everything at least twice a day to keep everything moist

Hi and welcome as no is on this yet . What are your lights what is your uvb you will need along linear fixture with either a reptisun 5% or an arcadia 6% this is vital your chams wellbeing. Is your heat light red ( red lights can damage their eyes ) you will want to replace this with a white bulb an ordinary incandescent house bulb will ( wattage will vary best to have different strengths. Is it a mister up top or a fogger ?

You do need to make some improvements to your enclosure…many more branches/vines, live plants and remove the bark or whatever it is on the bottom. The goal is to recreate a little tree for your chameleon with a sunny area for basking and lots of hidden areas for shade, hiding and sleeping. Lighting is very important, as are supplements and food. @Flick boy is a great keeper and can help guide you on all that you need.

- Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
- Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
- Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
- Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
- Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
- History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

this is my enclosure it may not be perfect but just to give an idea if you find it hard to find your new baby you can rest assured that he/she has enough shade, coverage and hiding spots to feel secure and safe
@Flick boy thank you for all the information in regard to the specifics about my chameleons I have one male and one female they are panther chameleons they were giving to me with very short notice and no experience so this is all I know everything I have for the enclosure was given to me from the old owner that is what they used I’m realizing they didn’t take care of it right

What a beauties and beautiful gift. Hopefully you’re willing to take care of them both. Because the first thing we’ll tell you (and you read everywhere), that’s is you can’t keep them together in one enclosure. This means you need to do and buy everything double (few things like a mister and fogger is possible using one for two enclosures) Still you need the space for both enclosures. Assuming, you told no reptile experience, that the glass tank is the second enclosure? When my assumption is correct, then unfortunately you can’t use it and need to buy another screen enclosure, like you already have.
Hopefully you’re all up to this? However it’s worth all the money for those two beauties. Details will follow-up once you fill-out the form. Then we know what you already own and what’s needed.

- Your Chameleon - One male anD one female been in my care 2 days Idk how old they are
- Handling - They do not trust me enough to do so I do not force they obviously don’t like being held
- Feeding - Right not cricket like 5 for each chameleon and I also have superworms I just got calcium so that will be implemented the next time they are fed
- Supplements - right now Calcium I’ve never taken care of a chameleon before so this is all I have atm
- Watering - I have a fogger and I spray the inside of the enclosure. I have seen both chameleons drink
- Fecal Description - I have not seen there poop nor have I had it tested
- History - this is all the info I have I do not know how well the old care taker treated them

Cage Info:
- Cage Type - one glass and one screen screen is about 4’ tall the glass one is small because she is very small I have another screen I’m going to put together for her
- Lighting - I think the lights are from that kit you can buy from pet o or pet smart which Ik is not good
- Temperature & Humidity I’m putting these together because this is what I’m stressing about the most I’m not sure how to regulate this I have a gauges the bottom which tell me the temp and stuff but I can’t seem to get it right
- Plants - He gave me fake plants
- Placement - Its in my room there is a fan on the ceiling I don’t use they’re enclosure are on desks lifted off the floor the vent that is to the left of them (about 5’ away is now closed)
- Location - New Jersey
- My plans: rebuild the enclosures idc about how much it’s going to cost cause I really want them to live comfortably and happily and get a proper schedule I’ve always wanted a chameleon I was just unprepared for it to happen obviously @MissSkittles @Sonny13 @Flick boy

One thing that hasn't been mentioned yet...female panthers can lay (infertile) eggs without having been mated. How you feed her and the temperatures you keep her at are important to keep her from suffering from reproductive endocrinology issues. You also need. To have an egg laying container in her cage at all times.
